The complete design of the death ray is probablly uknown or secret, but in the proposal paper it could be appreciated that it consist of different parts which could be tested separately to investigate some features.

The death ray design could be divided in the following parts:

• Van der Graaf - high potential generator (using air instead of a belt)
  • Fluid propulsion turbine to keep the dissecated air circulating.
  • Common refrigeration system to keep the air in the ideal conditions

• Modifyed Open Vacuum tube (or Venturi Vacuum Generator Pump)
  • Air pump/compresser to create the venturi effect
  • High vacuum pump to increase the force.
  • Valvular conduit or fluid diode.

• Insulating high vacuum bulbs for the terminal
  

The missing part to project the microscopic particles is not shown in the proposal and the principles are obviously uknown but some people gave different options to considere. Those are some methods for the projection of particles which could be related according to some articles and informations:

• An electrostatic atom-smasher (primitive particle accelerator).
• X-ray projection through long distances as Tesla explained in some articles (Exemple: Tesla’s Latest Results – He Now Produces Radiographs at a Distance of More Than Forty Feet - Electrical Review - March 18th, 1896) knowing that the Nazi secret beam weapon also used x-rays.
• Some kind of primitive ruby laser as it appears in some technical paper, knowing that it was probablly too primitive to use it as a weapon.
